The peaceful mountain town of Caccamo situated approximately 500 meters above sea level overlooking the crystal waters of lake Rosa Marina where there is a water sports and pony trekking center. There are many things to explore in Caccamo. The 12th Century castle with its splendid towers and battlements, several historic churches including the magnificent Duomo with it's ornately painted ceilings and the narrow ancient streets of the old town. The town is surrounded by dramatic views of the lake, mountains and countryside.

Caccamo has some excellent restaurants where you can wine and dine and several cafe/bars should you wish to eat a panino, sip an espresso with the locals or try the fantastic Italian ice cream. There’s is a small but busy open air market on Saturday mornings and many other local shops where you can buy food, clothes gift items etc.

The nearest beach is at Termini Imerese approximately 5 miles away. The nearest sandy beach is in the west-part of Trabia, about 10 miles away. At Trabia there is free access to the beach and also paid access which includes use of showers/changing rooms, toilet facilities, restaurants/bar.

From Caccamo you are well placed to explore some of the best Sicily has to offer. The bustling capital of Palermo with it’s historic buildings and lively markets. The architecture ranges in style from Arabic to Norman, Baroque to Art Nouveau.

The captivating seaside town of Cefalu with it’s sandy beach, winding, narrow, medieval streets, delightful bars and restaurants overlooking the rocky coast.

The large Friday open air market at Termini Imerese. is a “must see”. Just 10 minutes by car (or take the local bus). Visit the museum or walk along the “Belvedere Promenade” to enjoy the sea views . Termini also has a mainly pebble beach where you can sun bathe away from the crowds
